MEET THE TEAM
Hi I’m Bobby, Beyond Boundaries founder. During the summer of 2014 I went for a walk – a very long walk in fact. Starting at the UK’s most northerly point, John O’ Groats in Scotland, and finishing some 1000 miles later at Lands End, the UK’s most southernly point on the South-West Coast of Cornwall. Over 35 consecutive days I walked by day and camped by night covering the length of Britain. It was during the course of my walk I dreamt up the idea for Beyond Boundaries. It was a unique experience that I knew I had to share.
After 6 years of service in the British Army I had gained a wealth of knowledge and experience as a combat infantry soldier, in diverse environments as varied as the jungles of Belize in Central America and the desert plains of Iraq. I left in search of more travel and Adventure, as far afield as Australia and South East Asia to Central and South America enjoying submerging myself in new cultures and places along the way.
Whenever I can you’ll find me escaping the city and venturing off into the great outdoors. I love to wander the unspoilt landscapes of the UK and abroad. It’s lead me to some of the worlds most spectacular sights; from the UK’s famous 3 peaks to the ancient Inca ruins of Micchu Picchu in Peru. It’s these experiences that I’m passionate to share with you. The world’s here to be explored and I invite you to join me in doing so.
Dave, aka Disco, has always loved the outdoors. His enthusiasm for training and exercise lead him to a career in the Royal Marines making the most of his physical attributes and calm head under pressure.
The past 6 years since leaving the military, Disco has lead bootcamps across the whole of London, there isn’t a patch of grass he hasn’t thrusted, burpee’d, or sprinted the members across. With over 5000 bootcamp classes under his belt there’s no better person to provide a great hour of fun fitness!
When it comes to travel and Adventure Disco is the first to scratch his itch travelling extensively in North America and Asia. When not training or travelling Disco loves nothing better than bashing away on the drums or walking (chasing) his Cockapoo Charlie around Greenwich park.
Want to find out more about Disco’s hidden talents? Come and see him in the park any day of the week.
Baz was born for the great outdoors. If you totalled up the number of days he spends walking/ hiking / scrambling/ and climbing, the expression ‘hot dinners’ would come to mind. A fountain of knowledge, Baz’s experience in leading expeditions and tours around the world are essential to the core ethos here at Beyond Boundaries providing Fun and Adventure in a safe environment.
Baz’s early career serving in the British Army and subsequent spell in the special forces have inspired Baz to teach and pass on his well-honed outdoor and survival skills.
Trish deals with the correspondence and administration of our trips, whilst keeping us in check and ‘hiding behind her fingers’ at most of Bobby’s ideas. A lover of the countryside, she takes her yearly holidays to different parts of the Great British coastline. Her favourite is St. Ives in Cornwall, you can often find her here on long summer days (when she’s not organising our latest adventure) enjoying the beautiful coastal trails, walking amongst and enjoying the stunning sea views. Bliss.
